stfuhypocrisy:

Why is it that when people hoard things, they are a scourge on society and when they hoard money, they are job creators? In fact, aren’t the people that buy things the true job creators?

Both the 10 Commandments and the Seven Deadly Sins have no mention of being gay or having abortions. Greed, though, seems to be a biggie. Why do conservatives seem to get that backwards?

At what point did getting sick become a moral failing?

In what way are people who buy and sell paper making a more significant contribution to society than teachers, nurses, firefighters, police officers, mail carriers, artists, etc.?

When did the right to unlimited profit become greater than the general welfare of the people?

Why don’t people realize that there’s no such thing as a “self made man?” Even the most successful and ethical people can thank their parents, their teachers, their siblings, their employees, their customers, the government, their contractors, etc. Without them, they would be nothing. The unethical might want to work on their apologies.

Why is physical labor less important than sitting behind a desk?

Why should people who inherit their money not pay taxes and people who earn their money be taxed at the highest rate?

At what point did we start judging people based on the size of their checkbook rather than the size of the heart?

How has being a conservative helped you?

The day after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Steve Buscemi (top left), who worked as a firefighter from 1980-1984, showed up at his old fire station, Engine Company No. 55 in the Little Italy section of New York. For the next week he worked 12-hour shifts, digging through the rubble trying to find the bodies of missing firefighters, all the while refusing to do interviews or have his picture taken. “It was a privilege to be able to do it,” the 45-year-old actor said. “It was great to connect with the firehouse I used to work with and with some of the guys I worked alongside. And it was enormously helpful for me because while I was working, I didn’t really think about it as much, feel it as much. “It wasn’t until I stopped that I really felt the full impact of what had happened. It would have been much harder for me to get through it if I hadn’t been able to do that.” - text and photo via Indie King and @Alex_Ogle

Riddick Bowe, another Bed-Stuy Boxing Club alumnus, and Evander Holyfield in one of the best rounds of heavyweight boxing you’ll ever see. Holyfield’s face after taking Bowe’s uppercut at the start of the round is priceless. You can see him losing and recovering his senses in the space of about a quarter second. Bowe tries too hard to finish Holyfield off. He loses some power and tires himself out. Meanwhile, Holyfield’s response is brilliant. He leans on Bowe to help Bowe smother his work and gradually perks back up to the extent that he gets on his toes and bashes Bowe about to the extent that he ends the round on top. Bowe fought Holyfield three times, finally winning the series 2-1 in November 1995 with an 8th round TKO.
